310S Stainless Steel Pipe
This is a high-alloy austenitic stainless steel, characterized by very high Chromium (≈25%) and Nickel (≈20%) content, making it a premier heat-resistant grade. This composition grants it outstanding resistance to oxidation (scaling) in continuous service up to 1050°C (1922°F) and superior strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures. The 'S' variant denotes a low carbon version of 310, which reduces the risk of sensitization and embrittlement, enhancing its weldability for high-temperature service. 310S pipe is primarily used in extreme high-temperature industrial environments. Applications include piping and components for furnace parts (radiant tubes, muffles, retorts), heat exchangers in chemical and petrochemical refining, steam boilers, internal components for coal gasifiers, and systems in cement plants and incinerators where severe heat and hot corrosion are major factors.
